This is such an awesome language learning resource. As not only a second language student, but also a second language teacher, I loved how this book helps you increase your listening, reading, and vocabulary skills. The questions at the end of the stories are a great way to test your comprehension, and the summaries are helpful to use if you're more of a beginner and aren't able to understand the whole story yet. The included audio is at the perfect pace, not so slow that it's not really preparing you for real life Spanish, but not so fast that you get frustrated and quit. I've just recommended this to all of my friends who are studying Spanish.
I am seeking a bachelor's degree in Spanish, and I'm fluent. This book is very useful for those just starting or needing to increase their vocabulary. I would recommend this to my peers mostly because of the structure. The reviews and the vocab lists are crucial. Actually studying one story per week will gradually, but surely, increase Spanish proficiency.
Spanish Short Stories for Beginners Vol. 2 is another excellent way to improve your reading and listening skills in the Spanish language, especially if you are already fluent in the language or are seeking to be fluent in the language itself. I personally had a blast listening to the 11 tracks throughout this audiobook and while I’m not quite as fluent in the Spanish language, I still understood some of the vocabulary presented in the short stories. This is a good learning companion. I found the stories helpful and interesting. I took Spanish in high school and have always wanted to improve my Spanish skills. So, this was an excellent find.
I had to download the mp3 on a separate device and follow along on the kindle. Coordinating the two was quite difficult. For that reason alone I didn't like. However reading the stories are a great learning tool.
This audio book is definitely great for beginners. The stories in it are not too long or too short and they even leave some definitions at the end of each story for the reader to know what a certain word means. I would definitely recommend this for people looking to improve their Spanish language further.
A little bit hard for beginners
I really enjoyed this short read. I've taken Spanish course in high school but never had the opportunity to practice it on a consistent basis. This was a perfect brush up. I learned new words, phrases, correct conjugation. I also appreciate the repetition of words so as to reinforce/recall the definition & it's usage.
